Strange U’s enthusiasm for the off key and weird reigns supreme. Stream of consciousness lyrics coupled with hefty left of centre soundscapes are the perfect antidote to today’s bland cough mixture speech impediment rap. Strange U is a collaborative project centred around two Hip Hop veterans- King Kashmere and producer Doctor Zygote (aka The Maghreban).
Live, Strange U love and respect the traditional two turntables and a microphone set up but augment it with triggering samples and mad effects. The sonics are bathed in a wash of dub echo and spring reverb. It’s an audio visual assault on the senses that makes for a truly psychedelic experience.
